Decies

Anglicized name for a region in medieval Ireland, roughly coextensive with western Co. Waterford; named for the early Irish people, the Déisi. One early record proclaimed that Decies ran from the River Suir to the sea and from Lismore to Credan Head. The area has also been known as Power Country as it was settled by the Power or de Paor family.
