Deem Reginald Bristow (April 11, 1947 – January 15, 2005) was an actor and voice actor. His most well-known role was that of Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. Bristow was born and raised in Eaton, Ohio. He died on January 15, 2005 after a sudden heart attack. Originally his final game was to be dedicated to him incorporating "In Loving Memory of our Friend Deem Bristow 1947-2005" yet was decided against it after a controversy[which?]. Coincidently, Long John Baldry who voiced Robotnik in Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog, died the same year.
While his death is thought to have been the catalyst for the switch to 4Kids voice actors for the Sonic the Hedgehog games, an interview with Mike Pollock notes that the cast change had already gone into effect prior to this.[1]
