Delaware Theatre Company (Wilmington). Begun in 1978 in a former firehouse in the city's downtown, the company quickly grew and moved into its modern facility on the riverfront in 1985, where it continues to present an eclectic season of revivals and occasional new works. The group has some ambitious outreach programs, such as the Delaware Young Playwrights Festival, theatre classes for adults, a summer theatre camp, and programs for at‐risk urban teens and for mentally challenged and hearing‐impaired audiences.
