Profile
Delyn constituency was created in 1983 from the seats of Flintshire West and Flintshire East. It is normally inclined to elect Labour MPs, although the Conservatives won the seat in the 1983 and 1987 landslide elections. At the time, the constituency included Tory-inclined Prestatyn which has since been transferred to the Vale of Clwyd seat.
