The Democratic Convergence of Catalonia (Convergència Democràtica de Catalunya) is a political party in Catalonia, Spain. It is part of the Convergència i Unió coalition and member of the European Liberal, Democrat and Reform Party in the European Parliament.
It describes itself as Catalan nationalist and takes more or less the position of a centre liberal party in Catalan politics.
This party is the more important political organization in Catalonia with 50 000 members, about 30 % of the votes in national votes. From 1980 to 2003, CDC had the power in coaltion with UDC in the autonomous governement. Jordi Pujol, the leader of CDC was president of Catalonia during 23 years.
The current President of Democratic Convergence of Catalonia is Jordi Pujol i Soley, and its General Secretary is Artur Mas.
