Denise James has been with WPVI for 17 years as a general assignment reporter.

Denise James is a reporter at Action News. She has been a member of the Action News team for 17 years. While Philadelphia is now home, Denise began her career as a newscaster, talk show host, and radio disc jockey in Detroit. Before coming to Philadelphia, her career path took her to WGHP-TV in Greensboro, North Carolina and WTVD-TV in Durham, North Carolina. During her years in Journalism, she's covered everything from school programs, flower shows, street violence, politics, corporate prejudice, and celebrities. She feels her job has given her a special opportunity to witness much of what we know as history, from journalism's front row. Her goal is to work in the public trust, giving view and voice to people and issues that might otherwise be forgotten.

Ms. James received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunications from Michigan State University in 1981. Her outside interests include racquetball, family, friends, and community.
