Plot

In this direct-to-video sequel to the 1993 movie Dennis the Menace (which was based on Hank Ketcham's long-running comic strip), mischievous youngster Dennis (Justin Cooper) wants to help his eternally frazzled next-door neighbor Mr. Wilson (Don Rickles) celebrate his birthday, but Mr. Wilson is already feeling his age, and the lively Dennis only makes Wilson feel that much older -- and the arrival of Dennis's spry Grandfather (George Kennedy) doesn't help. Eager to feel younger, Mr. Wilson soon falls prey to a con man (Carrot Top) who sells him a variety of bogus youth-restoring potions. Dennis the Menace Strikes Again also features Betty White as Mrs. Wilson, and Dwier Brown and Jaqueline Steiger as Dennis's parents. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Plot

Dennis Mitchell is back, and worse than ever. At the beginning of the movie, his maternal grandfather (Kennedy) moves in, and therefore Dennis starts spending more time with him than his annoyed neighbor, George Wilson (Rickles). Mr. Wilson, upset that he's getting older, gets tricked by two con men (Doyle-Murray and Carrot Top) who try to talk him into buying a "rare" root used to make tea to make people younger.

Mr. Wilson is about to pay 10,000 dollars when Dennis comes by and turns out to own a root of the same kind, which he says he found on a place where these roots abound. Soon afterwards, the two impostors return and sell Mr. Wilson a machine that allegedly makes people younger. Suddenly, the attitudes of Mr. Wilson and Mr. Johnson (Dennis' grandfather) reverse as Johnson feels George's pain of living in the same neighborhood as Dennis.

Trying to fix an earlier mishap, Dennis accidentally destroys Wilson's machine. As a result of this, the Wilsons plan on moving away to be away from Dennis for good, whereupon Johnson decides to move into their house, although no one seems to really want to carry out this plan.

The film closes with Dennis helping the police (unintentionally) catching the con men (who were pretending to be several different workmen at the Wilson house when the Wilsons were planning to move, attempting yet again to drain Mr. Wilson's bank account by stockpiling a hoard of his, as-yet, un-endorsed checks. Dennis, who was a "menace" throughout the whole movie, ends up a hero, the police return the uncashed checks, and Mr. Wilson decides not to move away. Mr. Johnson, however, is now planning to move out of the Mitchell house because of everything Dennis has put him through.

Attic Mishaps

During a reminiscent flashback montage sequence, an oblivious Mr. Wilson ascends his attic stairs, only to become victim to Dennis' disastrous playtime activities: the man gets hit on the head by an oncoming bowling ball, his forehead becomes the bullseye of a slingshot marble, and he gets a hockey puck jammed into his mouth. Towards the end of the story, Mr. Wilson is accidentally pushed out the attic window by the other children, and hangs precariously from one of the window shutters.
