‘Der wilde Jäger’

‘wilde Jäger, Der’, a ballad written by G. A. Bürger in 1777 and first published in the Göttinger Musenalmanach 1786. It is the story of an impious noble huntsman, cruel to man and beast, who is condemned to be himself pursued for ever by devils (das wilde Heer).
