Veterinary Dictionary: dermatosparaxis

An inherited defect in collagen synthesis caused by a deficiency of procollagen peptidase. Results in fragility, hyperelasticity and laxity of the skin. Occurs in cattle, some breeds of sheep, and Himalayan cats. Called also Ehlers–Danlos syndrome, hyperelastosis cutis, cutaneous asthenia.
