Review

The second 12" release of Gene Loves Jezebel's excellent "Desire" single remixes the sleeker version of the song which appeared on Discover (the original version was put out on the Immigrant album a year earlier). It doesn't particularly shed any compelling new light on the song, and, as with many '80s dance remixes, this sounds a bit dated. Its three B-sides, "Sapphire Scavenger," "A New Horizon," and "Message," don't necessarily make this release worth searching for, either; they sound like unfinished demos. Only for completists. ~ Andy Hinds, All Music Guide
