Devota

Devota, martyr under Diocletian and Maximian, who suffered at Macinaggio (Corsica) in c.304. She is venerated as patron of both Monaco and Corsica. Some have supposed that she should be identified with another martyr, Julia, described as ‘Deo devota’, whose description was mistakenly made into a proper name. Feast: 27 January.
