The best of Bonnie Tyler's work with Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe, the production/writing team move more towards the pop side and away from the country flourishes which marked Tyler's first two albums. From the terrific opener "If You Ever Need Me Again" through to the closing "I'm a Fool," this is a solid collection of pop songs -- including soulful ballads ("Words Can Change Your Life"), saucy anthems ("My Guns Are Loaded") and moving singalongs ("Too Good to Last"). As with her two previous releases, there are also wonderfully interpreted covers ("Louisiana Rain" being the highlight). All in all, Diamond Cut is definitely the high point of Tyler's pre-Jim Steinman career -- and a dynamite showcase for Tyler's inimitable voice. ~ Tomas Mureika, All Music Guide

Diamond Cut is the third album released by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler in 1979.
The album is a move away from the country style that was on the first two albums and leans towards the pop genre with covers of Louisiana Rain and Bye Bye Now My Sweet Love among other notable singles.
The first single from the album was Tyler's version of Louisiana Rain, written and originally sung by Tom Petty. While her version didn't chart, her second single, My Guns Are Loaded, did; it reached #107 on the pop charts and #86 on the country charts.[1] The single met better success in France, reaching #3 there.[4]
The other two singles, Too Good to Last and What a Way to Treat My Heart, failed to hit the charts.
