Richard Anthony Stanfel (born July 20, 1927 in San Francisco, California) is a former American football offensive lineman in the National Football League for the Detroit Lions and the Washington Redskins. He played college football at the University of San Francisco and was drafted in the second round of the 1951 NFL Draft.

He also was the interim coach for the New Orleans Saints for the final four games of the 1980 season.

He was the offensive line coach for the Chicago Bears from 1981 to 1992, and helped create a solid offensive line that helped the Bears win the Super Bowl in the 1985 Season. Tom Thayer an offensive guard from that era and current Chicago Bears radio announcer, performs an impression of Stanfel on the Steve Dahl show regularly. Stanfel was kicked in the throat during his playing days and spoke with a speech impediment.
