Richard Quincy (Dick) Thornton (born November 1, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois) was a football player in the Canadian Football League for twelve years years. Thornton played defensive back and wide receiver for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Toronto Argonauts from 1961-1972. He won two Grey Cups with Winnipeg in 1961 and 1962. Later he played with the Memphis Southmen of the WFL. He was selected originally by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1961 NFL Draft out of Northwestern University, where he starred at quarterback.
