Dictabelt

Wikipedia: Dictabelt

The Dictabelt or Memobelt was a form of recording medium introduced by the American Dictaphone company in 1947. It used a stylus to record sounds by pressing a groove into a replaceable plastic belt. Previously, Dictaphone's products had used wax cylinders as their recording medium.

Along with a Gray Audograph sound recorder, a Dictabelt captured sounds recorded at the time of the John F. Kennedy assassination that were reviewed by the United States House Select Committee on Assassinations.
