Dicuil (?765-?), astronomer, grammarian, and mathematician. Born possibly in Ireland or in the Hebrides, he seems to have been a monk on Iona [see Colum Cille]. He wrote a Liber de Astronomia; a summary of the grammarian Priscian, De Questionibus Decim Artis Grammatice; De Prima Syllaba; and Liber de Mensura Orbis, a work of geography.
