Aufgeregten, Die, a play begun by Goethe in 1791 and left unfinished. It is described as ‘Politisches Drama in fünf Akten’, but the fifth act is given only in scenario form. It was published in 1817. The play, conceived as a comedy, represents the impact of the French Revolution on the tensions of a German village.
