Die Monster Die is a New York City alternative/punk band which was originally formed in Athens, Georgia. Their name is a reference to the 1965 horror movie of the same name starring Boris Karloff (which was very loosely based on the H. P. Lovecraft story "The Colour Out of Space").
The band are also known as DMD.

Self-described as "the highest and lowest intellect combined into one mass" the first version of the band came and went in the late 1980s, but was reborn in 1991 when Alice Cohen (formerly of Shag Motor Pony and The Vels) came on as lead singer (and to also share work on bass guitar).
