Dietrich von der Glezze, a Silesian in the service of Wilhelm von Weidenau in the late 13th c., was probably a native of Glatz (Glezze). He is the author of Der Borte, an erotic verse tale, in which a marriage breaks down and is renewed. The wife of a knight gives herself to a lover for various presents, and particularly a girdle which ensures victory. The husband discovers her deceit and leaves her. Disguised as a man she follows him. He is ready to sleep with the supposed man, whereupon she discloses her identity and the couple are reconciled. The hint of homosexuality is socially noteworthy.
