Digambar Kamat (Konkani: दिगंबर कामत) is a politician from Goa, and since June 2007 he is the Chief Minister of Goa. Digambar is a long-term senior politician in the state. He left the Indian National Congress in 1994 and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party when he was not given the INC ticket. In 2005, he left the BJP-led government in the state and returned to the Congress. On July 25th, 2007, Kamat's government fell into crisis, as it appeared to not have a majority after resignations and alliance break-up's.
