Dingad

Saints: Dingad

Dingad (Digat), Welsh church-founder of the tribe of Brychan, patron of Llandingat, i.e. Llandovery (Dyfed). Like other foundations of his tribe his churches are in S. Wales and seem to presuppose a westward migration along the Roman roads. The patron of Dingestow (Gwent) may be this Dingad or Dingad ab Nudd Hael, king of Bryn Buga. Feast: 1 November.
