Biography

Boston-based Disaster Strikes was formed in 1999, and has quietly amassed a following through self-released cassettes and relentless touring on the East Coast punk circuit of the United States. The band, whose members also did time in bands like the hardcore act Tree, takes influence from the likes of Dead Kennedys, Crass and Econochrist for their fierce, politically informed and diverse brand of hardcore. Their first three releases (2000's split with Fallen Short, 2001's Drunk With Power, 2003's Anthrax on the Dance Floor) were issued on the Rodent Popsicle imprint in limited editions. Liberty Toast, their full-length debut for the legendary Alternative Tentacles imprint, was released in July 2006 and was produced by Today Is the Day's Steve Austin. ~ Rob Theakston, All Music Guide
