DJ Magazine is, as of January 31, 1991, a monthly magazine dedicated to Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and DJs. The magazine is translated monthly to Portuguese, Polish, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Chinese and Bulgarian.[1] The magazine has styled itself as "the world's largest selling dance music magazine,"[2] and currently claims sales of 27,500 copies out of a total circulation of 32,250 (with 5,000 given away free).[3] This compares with Mixmag's latest ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulations UK) audited circulation of 29,588 copies sold and 693 given away free (total 30,159).[4]

DJ Blackbook

In January 2008, the magazine created the "DJ Blackbook" which is a database of DJs, producers and promoter. It was released online and in a printed version with over 10,000 contacts.

DJ Mag 100

The magazines publishes two annual "top 100" lists, one for DJs and one for nightclubs. The DJ list is based on public votes, whereas the nightclub list is voted for by DJs themselves. The DJ poll is seen as important enough in the industry for DJs to have been caught cheating to gain higher positioning.[5] Trackitdown.net formed a collaboration with the 2008 DJ poll, saying "By offering each voter a free track to download from our catalogue of 350,000 titles from over 10,000 labels, we can demonstrate how easy it is to find your favourite electronic music legally."[6]
