DLNA

(Digital Living Network Alliance) A coalition of computer and consumer electronics companies that was formed to ensure interoperability in home networks. Founded in 2003, DLNA is based on industry standards such as the IP network protocol, Wi-Fi wireless protocol and UPnP transfer protocol. DLNA certification programs began in 2005.

Ensuring Digital Convergence

DLNA's goal is to encourage vendors to use the same standards for transferring photos, audio and video between computer and consumer electronics devices, home theater equipment, handheld players and other mobile devices as the world of computers and home entertainment converges. For more information, visit www.dlna.org. See Internet Protocol, Wi-Fi and UPnP.
