Biography

Following the success of his venture with Tha Eastsidaz in 2000, the entrepreneurial-minded Snoop Dogg launched Doggy's Angels on his Doggy Style label (a subsidiary of TVT). A trio of female rappers featuring Big Chan, Coniyac, and Kola, Doggy's Angels followed much in the footsteps of West Coast G-funk pioneers such as Dr. Dre and DJ Quik, dropping gangsta-themed rhymes overtop of bass-heavy, mid-tempo, retro-funk-flavored beats. The trio debuted with two 12" singles, Ridaz With Me and Baby If You're Ready, before their debut Pleezbalevit streeted in late 2000. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide

Legal problems

The release of their debut album inspired a lawsuit by Columbia Pictures, who claimed infringement against the Charlie's Angels franchise.[4] The band was renamed "Tha Angels", but in spite of the success of their initial release produced no other albums before disbanding in 2002.[1] In 2005, Chan Gaines sued the label for $100 million in royalties for her performances in the band; the suit was settled on March 24, 2006.[1]
