Domenico Morfeo (born 16 January, 1976 in Pescina) is an Italian football (soccer) player, in the position of attacking midfielder or striker.

Career

Morfeo came to prominence at Atalanta B.C. before moving to Fiorentina for 15 million euros before playing short spells at many Italian top clubs, including AC Milan and Internazionale. He then spent five seasons with Parma, from 2003 to 2008. He then agreed to start the 2008–09 season with Serie B club Brescia Calcio, but on October 2008 he ultimately decided to retire from football citing lack of motivation. On January 2009 he stepped back on his decision and returned to play football with Cremonese.

Despite being considered by several pundits as one of the most talented players ever to come out of Italy in recent years and having great technique, passing and dribbling, he never played to his full potential on the big stage. He has never been capped by the Azzurri.
