Iguana Mama (☎ 800-849-7420, 809-571-0908, fax 809-471-0734, www.iguanamama.com) runs periodic (and strenuous) nine-day Dominican Alps bike trips that begin in Cabarete on the north coast, wind down to Constanza through the mountains and then up to Jarabacoa to visit waterfalls and go river rafting. The tours then return to Cabarete via Santiago, for a total distance of 162 miles. Cost is US $1,450.
