Set nearly 4,000 feet in a high valley formed by an ancient meteor, Constanza is largely undeveloped for tourism.
The main route into town is a long, narrow two-way road leading from Highway 1, cutting straight through a flat valley with acre after beautiful acre of fertile farmland on either side. Carretera Constanza eventually turns into Avenida Luperón, the busiest strip in this otherwise sleepy town. At its center is one of the most beautiful central parks in the country, set placidly among thick pine trees with a mountain backdrop that gives it that Swiss Alps feeling.
TIP: Banks and ATMs are in short supply in Constanza (there is just one branch of Ban Reservas), so it’s prudent to carry along sufficient cash. |
