Recipient of a gift, such as a magazine subscription or book. Donees can be divided for mail promotion purposes into donee types, such as Christmas gift donees, non-Christmas gift donees, or donees of a trade gift given for business purposes. See also donor; donor control.

Recipient of a Gift or Trust; one who takes without first giving Consideration; one who is given a power, right, or interest.

A recipient, as of a gift.
Example: Collins was the donee of an Estate she takes the Property as a gift.
