Plot

When a drunk driver kills two pedestrians, police have a hard time tracking a suspect due to conflicting eyewitness reports. Eventually tracking the car's owner to his office, Sgt. Friday (Jack Webb) and Officer Gannon (Harry Morgan) find the unremorseful Clayton Fillmore (Robert Clarke) waiting for their arrival with his lawyer by his side. Though he is convicted of felony manslaughter, Clayton receives a suspended sentence and three years of probation. When Friday and Gannon hear of a fatal head-on collision five months later, they find that Clayton was at fault and has lost both of his legs in the accident. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
