Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Orchestrations

Wikipedia: Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Orchestrations

The Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Orchestrations is presented by the Drama Desk, a committee of New York City theatre critics, writers, and editors. It honors the orchestrators of musical productions staged on Broadway, off-Broadway, off-off-Broadway, and for legitimate not-for-profit theaters.

It was not until the 29th Annual Drama Desk Awards in 1983 that a specific category for Outstanding Orchestrations was created. The first recipents in this category - Michael Gibson for My One and Only and Hans Spialek for On Your Toes - tied for the honor.

To date, Jonathan Tunick and William David Brohn share the record for most wins, with three each.
