Drongan

Wikipedia: Drongan

Drongan is a village in East Ayrshire, Scotland with a population of around 3000. It is a former mining village. The name Drongan means "between two hills"[citation needed].

Drongan has one primary school with a nursery school attached, two pubs, a variety of shops, a bowling green, community centre, church, chapel, police station, funeral parlor and a health centre. There used to be a railway station but that was closed after the mining ceased and the building is now a house. Drongan is situated 7 miles from Ayr and 9 miles from Cumnock. New, private houses have been built in Drongan recently, many by Hope Homes Scotland. They also created a nature walk area, Hannahston Park, when they built in the Coalhall Road area.

Kirk Broadfoot and Stewart Kean are footballers from Drongan.
