Druim Ceat

 

Druim Ceat (or Druim Ceit), at Mullagh, near Derry, the site of the Convention of AD 575 where it was agreed that the Irish Dál Riata, who had territories in Scotland, owed military service in Ireland. Colum Cille intervened in the debate, and is also said to have taken the side of the bardic caste, who had become so importunate that the patience of their patrons was exhausted.
