Christopher Gholson, better known by his stage name Drumma Boy, is a music producer, singer and rapper from Memphis, Tennessee.

Early life
Born and bred in Memphis, Tennessee, Christopher Gholson not was exposed to musicianship at a young age. His mother was a professional opera singer and his father, a professional clarinetist and music professor at the University of Memphis, was the first African-American male to hold the 1st chair position in the National Symphony Orchestra, where he is still an active member.[1] Throughout his tenure as a junior high and high school student, Drumma Boy participated in the band although as he got older he wanted to play more urban music and less classical.
Awards
In July 2008 W. W. Herenton, the mayor of Memphis, Tennessee, gave Drumma Boy a Key to the City.[citation needed] In August 2008 he was nominated for "Producer of the Year" at the Ozone Awards in Houston, Texas.[2] Drumma Boy won "Best Indie Producer" at the 6th Annual Southern Entertainment Awards 2009 [3] which took place at the Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica, MS
Drumma Boy was nominated for two Grammy Awards at the February 2009 Ceremony for his work on T.I.'s Paper Trail (Best Rap Album) and the hit single "Put On" featuring Young Jeezy & Kanye West (Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group)
