EDUCATION: Has completed the rigorous Navy SEAL training and the Army Ranger school. Duke was a member of the Alien Preparedness military force commanded by General P. Graves. He left the military due to unknown circumstances but continues to have contact with General Graves who periodically feeds him intelligence.
PERSONAL HOBBIES: Firing guns and womanizing.
BEHIND THE SCENES CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Duke's o-creator, Scott Miller claims that his character is a mix between John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Batman. He was originally conceived to be a modern day action hero but by the time Duke Nukem 3-D was released he had been endowed with a heavy attitude. Miller took a risk and broke the game designers law that says players must see a character's eyes to identify with them. Duke constantly wears impenetrable black shades. Duke Nukem was originally released as piece of shareware in 1991.
