This two-hour video is the third in the Dusk-To-Dawn Trash-O-Rama Show series that compiles previews from drive-in fare. Among the many movie trailers featured in this volume are those for the following titles: Sadismo (1967), a lurid "documentary" about sordid practices in the dark corners of the world; Destroy All Monsters (1968), wherein the monsters Godzilla, Mothra, and Rodan team up to battle aliens threatening Earth; Frogs (1972), an environmental horror tale starring Ray Milland, Joan Van Ark, and Sam Elliott; Night of the Lepus (1972), about vicious 150-pound mutated rabbits, starring Stuart Whitman, Janet Leigh, and DeForest "Bones McCoy" Kelley; Class of '74, aka Gabriella (1974), a tale of sexy teenage schoolgirls who "TAUGHT more than they learned!"; Shame of the Jungle (1975), a feature cartoon starring the voices of Johnny Weismuller Jr., John Belushi, and Bill Murray; and Black Shampoo (1976), a blaxploitation actioner wherein a badass African-American salon owner gives mobsters a trim with a chainsaw. ~ Steve Blackburn, Rovi
Review
Dusk to Dawn Drive-In Trash-O-Rama Show, Vol. 3 delivers yet another two-hour collection of wild trailers from drive-in classics for exploitation film enthusiasts. It lacks the strong collection of fan favorites that popped up in Dusk to Dawn Drive-In Trash-O-Rama Show, Vol. 2, but makes up for this by delivering a group of trailers that are as entertaining as they are obscure. This volume has a stronger focus on sexploitation than previous entries, including some rather raunchy trailers for films like Revenge of the Cheerleaders (which features a young David Hasselhoff) and The Yum Yum Girls. However, the most amusing entry in this arena is Caged Heat, a women-in-prison outing that was Jonathan Demme's directorial debut. The sexy trailers are balanced about plenty of horror and action outings. The most entertaining horror trailers are the intensely creepy clip for the serial killer tale Deranged and the ecology horror epic Frogs, which features the great tag line "Today, the pond. Tomorrow, the world!" Action highlights include the low-budget Bonnie and Clyde knock-off Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw (starring Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter) and the blaxploitation favorite Trouble Man, which features music by Marvin Gaye. All in all, Dusk to Dawn Drive-In Trash-O-Rama Show, Vol. 3 probably won't reel in the average viewer, but provides plenty of sleazy delights for the seasoned cult movie addict. ~ Donald Guarisco, Rovi
