Biography

Tennessee's Dust for Life consists of Jason Hughes, Marc Gurley, Tim Fowler, Todd Scott and Gerard Jones. Their 1999 self-titled debut album introduced the group's brand of driven, melodic, slightly psychedelic hard rock. The period of time after their album release ended up being rather tumultuous, resulting in the departure of Gurley, Fowler, Scott and Jones, and their subsequent replacement by Rick Shelton, Chris Gavin, and Dave Rhea. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide

Dust for Life is a post-grunge band formed in December 1999 after the dissolution of the Memphis grunge band Bacchanal.

The group's self-titled full-length for Wind-Up Records, released in 2001, hit #26 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.[1]

Jason Hughes has a new band called Dark Things Betray. Dust for Life is on an indefinite hiatus.

Chris Gavin is playing in a band called White Noise Theory, which will be a music outlet for his original material and some covers.

As of November 26, 2007 Dust For Life is currently working on a possible new album. Both Chris and Jason are tracking about 15 songs, which hopefully will see the light of day in the year 2008. There is a new fire burning, as stated on their myspace page through one of their blogs, and it might be time for some new material.

In June 2008, the song "Release The Flood" off their fourthcoming album was used by TNA Wrestling to help promote their Slammiversary event.

In August 2008, Dust For Life began selling their new CD, The Consequence Of Vanishing, from their MySpace page.

The song "Poison" was used in the movie Dragonball Z Cooler's Revenge.
