DVD-VR

(DVD-Video Recording) The format for recording and editing video on DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD-RAM discs. Introduced in 1999 by the DVD Forum, DVD-VR discs are not finalized as are DVD movies, but they must be finalized in order to play in a standard DVD player. Contrast with DVD+VR. See DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD-RAM.
