Larimore, Earle (1899–1947), actor. He was born in Portland, Oregon, where he began acting while still a child, then made his New York debut in 1925. Larimore's early performances showed great promise: the ruthless husband George in Ned McCobb's Daughter (1926), the cowed son Robert in The Silver Cord (1926), the determined suitor Alistin Lowe in The Second Man (1927), the weak husband Sam Evans in Strange Interlude (1928), the rich Jew Norman Rose in Hotel Universe (1930), the Orestes‐like son Orin Mannon in Mourning Becomes Electra (1931), the radical editor Richard Kurt in Biography (1932), and John, the better half of the hero's split personality, in Days Without End (1934). Following this impressive series his career inexplicably faltered. His last appearance on Broadway was in 1935, after which he gradually faded into obscurity until his premature death.
