Review

Pacheco has never run a mambo-type big band. Yet here he is, fluting away like Johnny-Begone in front of full brass and sax sections. This is Pacheco freelancing, in about 1962, with what was essentially Machito's band. It's an unusual disc, with fine flute, and great Rene Hernandez arrangements. ~ John Storm Roberts, Original Music, All Music Guide
