1795The Art of Courting. A didactic novel describing seven model courtships, it suggests that religion is the most important component in marriage. Although the work was criticized in the Massachusetts Magazine for its "scenes of courtship that are detailed without spirit till vapid narration ends in marriage," the Massachusets writer is chiefly remembered for this contribution to the epistolary novel form.
