Educational Insights wants to sell you a sea monkey -- and other items to supplement your child's education. The firm makes some 800 items (including the Amazing Live Sea-Monkeys and GeoSafari lines) targeting students in kindergarten to eighth grade. Products cover nearly every school subject. The firm also designs games, science activity kits, and books for home or school use. Educational Insights sells its items through school supply and educational toy dealers and they are available in the US, as well as Canada, Puerto Rico, the UK, and the Virgin Islands. Education Insights was founded in 1962. In late 2006 it was acquired by Learning Resources in a deal valued at more than $24 million.
