Raiding virtual tombs has proven to be both a popular pastime and a profitable business line. Eidos develops interactive video and computer games such as the popular "Tomb Raider" franchise. "Tomb Raider" has sold more than 30 million games worldwide and created a licensing jackpot for the company; the curvaceous main character sells action figures, books, clothing, and has been the basis for two "Tomb Raider" movies. Other popular Eidos titles include Hitman, Timesplitters, Deus Ex, and Fear Effect. In early 2009 the company was acquired by Square Enix.
