Welsh antecedent to Igerna of international Arthurian romance. One of the most beautiful women of Britain, she was the daughter of Anlawdd Wledig and married to Gwrlais, Duke of Cornwall. Uthr Bendragon became infatuated with her and, after being changed into the form of Gwrlais by Myrddin, seduced her, begetting Arthur.
