Electoral district of Bayswater

Wikipedia: Electoral district of Bayswater

The Electoral district of Bayswater is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It covers the suburbs of Bayswater, Heathmont and Wantirna as well as parts of other neighbouring suburbs in outer eastern Melbourne.

Upon its creation in 1992 it was notionally held by the Labor Party but it was easily won by Gordon Ashley for the Liberals on the back of the 1992 landslide. Ashley retained the seat in 1996 and 1999 before Peter Lockwood gained it for Labor in 2002. The seat fell back into Liberal hands with Heidi Victoria taking over in 2006.
