Elias Ingraham
Elias Ingraham (1805 - 1885) was a clockmaker from Bristol, Connecticut, and scion of the family which would control E Ingraham Company until 1961.
Career
In 1831, Ingraham opened a clock case and cabinet making shop in Bristol, Connecticut. The shop at first prospered, then failed. In 1841, his brother Andrew Ingraham and Benjamin Ray formed Ray & Ingraham and hired Elias as a case maker. This was to be the first of several successor companies that would eventually become the E Ingraham Company in 1860.
