Ellinikon (Greek: Ελληνικό, meaning Greek) is a suburb of Athens, Greece. It is the home of the Ellinikon International Airport, now replaced by Eleftherios Venizelos. The town hall is on the east side, and one third of the municipality is covered by the airport site; the municipal boundaries from north to south encompassing the airport space also later became Olympic venues for the Athens 2004 Olympics. The Ellinikon Olympic Complex included the Olympic Canoe/Kayak Slalom Centre, the Olympic Hockey Centre, the Baseball Centre and Softball stadium.

Much of the residential area is in the eastern part of Ellinikon, while the western part is smaller. A local controversy surrounds a new stadium to be built for Panathinaikos, as many favour the Goudi team instead. Forested land dominates around the beach and the areas has some nightclubs; the area is located near the quarter of Agia Kosmas.

Recent developments

Prices of residences have risen in recent years. This is due to several reasons: Ellinikon is not only well connected to the centre of Athens through the new line of the Athens metro, but the biggest park in Attica is to be formed at the former terrain of the Ellinikon Airport.
