Emanuele Barbella

(b Naples, 14 April 1718; d there, 1 Jan 1777). Italian violinist and composer. He played in Naples at the Teatro Nuovo, the royal chapel and (from 1761) S Carlo; he wrote mostly violin sonatas, duos and trio sonatas, in Tartini's style, some with unusual titles and tempo markings.
