Endocare makes minimally invasive medical devices that use cryoablation to treat cancer. Approved for tumor removal, the Cryocare Surgical System freezes targeted cells, which are broken up and reabsorbed by the body. Endocare sells its products mainly to US urologists, radiologists, hospitals, and other health care providers, but it also does business internationally, mostly in Canada and China. Its products are primarily applied in prostate cancer treatment but are also used to fight kidney tumors. Endocare was acquired by urological equipment firm HealthTronics in 2009.
