Medical care in Northern California has come a long way since Dr. N.T. Enloe pinned a broken hip with a two-penny nail in 1913. Now Enloe Medical Center serves California's North Valley region through an acute care general hospital in Esplanade, a rehabilitation center in Chico, and an urgent care and behavioral health center in Cohasset with a total of more than 390 beds. It also operates smaller outpatient clinics throughout the region for cancer care, children's health, and rehabilitation. Enloe Medical Center also operates wellness programs, home health care, and hospice care. The medical center was founded in 1937.
